I recently had the great pleasure of performing a show with Rosie Waters. It was my show and Rosie played support and brought the house down with her very novel and exciting poetry and attractive stage presence. I had heard wonderful accounts of Rosie before I ever saw her perform, but she still managed to surpass my expectations.
My friend and I who attended both fancy ourselves as storytellers and poets and we were blown away by Rosie Waters' wonderful storytelling and poetry. A Gamilaroi woman she painted pictures of family, life, connection to country, beauty and her poems and performance moved us both enormously. Along with her sassy cheekiness, great storytelling.
Rosie Waters performed for us recently and, having not seen her work before, I was open-minded, but what a shock was in store for me as here was a mature theatrical performer with wit, cleverness, perfectly shaped stories, and that little bit extra – a twinkle in her eye. Our audience simply loved what she did and cried out for more!
